WASHINGTON, D.C. -- There is no room for compromise in the Senate regarding judicial filibusters. The judicial filibuster is unfair, unfounded and unconstitutional. Concession is not an option.
"If these wavering Republican senators, after four decades of judicial activism which has created an environment of hostility to people of faith, cut and run at this critical moment when irrationally senseless activist courts are gaining in influence, they ensure the end of Republican control and will likely cause the loss of the White House and potentially Congress by 2008," says Tony Perkins, President of . Family Research Council.
"Those people across the nation who mobilized because of 'values' and who worked endless hours to elect promarriage, pro-family candidates will question the wisdom of their personal sacrifices and contributions.
"I urge Republican members of the Senate to reject any compromising 'deal' offered by Democratic leadership. There is so much to lose, both culturally and politically.
"Asking for an up or down vote is reasonable, preventing an up or down vote is obstructionist and unreasonable.
"Stand strong. NO DEAL!"
